About the Role & Team

As a Senior Python Developer, you'll be a core builder of FERDA - IDC's internal business intelligence framework. You'll design the Python libraries and microservices that Data Engineers across IDC rely on to deliver better data products, faster. If you like building tools that other engineers genuinely depend on, you'll find plenty of that here. 

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain the Python packages and microservices at the core of FERDA
• Shape FERDA Python's architecture, extensions, and APIs - participate in technical design and help decide where the platform goes next
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies end-to-end, from proof-of-concept to production deployment
• Work directly with FERDA's internal users: understand their needs, unblock their work, and build features that make them more effective
• Support Data Engineers day-to-day - troubleshoot issues and answer questions
• Write and maintain API documentation so the teams relying on FERDA can work independently and confidently
  
  

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience with Python services and package development - clean, testable, and production-ready code
• Experience with SQL databases - we work with Postgres and Snowflake
• Experience with AWS, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Track record of end-to-end delivery: from architecture and design through QA to production
• Comfort working directly with technical users - gathering requirements, communicating trade-offs, and iterating on feedback
• Professional proficiency in Czech and English
• Experience building and publishing Python packages or internal developer SDKs (nice to have)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines - GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar (nice to have)
