About the Role & Team

IDC is seeking a Senior Account Manager to join our team in South Africa. You will be responsible for driving sales, growth and building long-lasting relationships with existing clients and prospects for large Telcom Operators and ICT Services player, Technology Vendors & Enterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa across the IDC portfolio of services. Your reporting Manager is based in Dubai, UAE. IDC portfolio spans across Research, Advisory and Technology Events.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Individually contributing to the sales revenue for Sub-Saharan Africa region via identifying and prospecting new business opportunities in the technology sector as well as keeping existing clients engaged.
  • Organizing and driving face-to-face and virtual meetings with existing and potential customers to sell IDC Services to cultivate strong, long-term relationships with existing and new clients.  
  • Able to handle a typical mix of Hunting & Farming business. This ratio would be 60% hunting and 40% Farming the existing accounts  
  • Customizing proposals based on customer requirements with the support of team members through existing PowerPoint templates. 
  • Accurately reporting the sales pipeline in the CRM and local market intel/inputs to grow the business based on trends and requirements

What You Bring

  • A solid track record of about 10 years of experience with a focus on consultative selling and client relationship management
  • Knowledge of the technology sector, ICT Services (DC, Cloud , Security, IoT & other Digital Services) and/or experience with selling to Large Telco's is a big plus
  • Being fluent in English is a must, other languages are an advantage.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships at various organizational levels.
  • Powerful negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, and advanced Powerpoint skills are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset to navigate complex sales scenarios.
  • Being self-motivated, driven, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools and other sales-related software, knowledge of Salesforce in particular is a plus.
