About the Role & Team
International Data Corporation (IDC), a PE-backed Data and Analytics company, has an opportunity for a dynamic tax professional. This position will oversee direct/indirect tax compliance and the local tax provisions for the EMEA region. In addition, the role will help support the information needs for the US GAAP tax reporting that IDC performs on a consolidated basis.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee the EMEA-based direct/indirect tax returns and tax provision preparation for the Group in partnership with co-sourced tax advisor. Continuing the centralization, standardization, and optimization of our end-to-end tax compliance and provision processes.
- Partner closely with the Controllership to ensure effective communication and timely submission of information to external advisors.
- Supporting the correct booking of intercompany transactions between the US and our ex-US affiliates so that Controllership can book the appropriate journal entries in the financial statements of our companies.
- Risk management of the end-to-end direct/indirect tax compliance processes across EMEA.
- Preparing and presenting regular reports on direct/indirect tax compliance across EMEA to senior management, highlighting key findings, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in providing documentation in support of the groups EMEA tax audits and controversy. Assist in coordinating with external tax advisors to support audit submissions to tax authorities.
- Assist with the review of tax planning, reporting and compliance strategies, and evaluate the tax impact of business strategies and proposals.
- Assist with advising on transaction taxes and help assess tax risk with associated with cross-border operations.
- Assist with tax planning, research, structuring, and compliance with international tax laws and regulations.
- Provide ad hoc support to the U.S. tax department with U.S. compliance and reporting.
What You Bring
- The ideal candidate will have a convergent skillset of technical tax, accounting, and system proficiency, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner effectively with tax colleagues, finance organization teams and external advisors.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills and willingness to assist with different assignments among various tax workstreams
- Minimum 4 years of recent international tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation, and/or law firm with practical experience of foreign local tax laws.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM or similar certifications preferred.
