About the Role & Team

IDC is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Enterprise Infrastructure team. In this role, you will conduct market research and analysis across our data center infrastructure programs, helping to shape business strategy through data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate can interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Experience evaluating data from multiple sources is essential.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct primary market research on selected companies, AI platforms, industry sectors, and countries to identify key factors shaping overall markets.
  • Track vendor strategies, product innovations, partnerships, market trends, and industry developments, including earnings calls and technology adoption use cases.
  • Clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources; maintain and update databases with market data and research findings to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations to track key market metrics and trends.
  • Create market forecasts and predictive models using statistical methods to anticipate future trends and technology buyer behavior.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including consulting, to develop customized vendor and market models for client projects.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all program deliverables.

 

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent experience, with a strong understanding of economic principles and their application to market analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience in market research, technology business analysis, or financial modeling.
  • Skilled in analyzing complex datasets and developing predictive models using statistical tools and methodologies.
  • Critical and strategic thinking abilities, with an understanding of the broader business implications of data findings.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot, with the ability to demonstrate practical use cases.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills to effectively present research findings.
  • Ability to manage multiple research projects, meet deadlines, and solve problems effectively.
