IDC seeks a skilled, motivated, and dedicated Data Analytics Engineer to help build some of the most advanced data products. You will design and launch innovative analytical solutions by handling large datasets and developing tools for complex data operations. You’ll be part of the Market & Vendor Data Operation Center Team, which powers IDC’s global data products.

• Develop tools and applications in Python to perform data processing, data analysis, modelling, forecasting. Utilize statistical, mathematical, and algorithmic principles.
• Prototype, test, and deploy end-to-end data operation pipelines.
• Develop web-based applications using Streamlit for data visualization and reporting.
• Design, build, and optimize Python/Snowflake-based data operation pipelines for ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data.
• Collaborate with global technical and analyst teams to gather requirements.

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Engineering or equivalent experience (3-5 years) in related fields.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a technical role, preferably with experience managing individuals for team outcomes. 
• Proficiency with Python and SQL-based environments, preferably Snowflake, or similar databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL).

Nice to haves

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience developing algorithms for data quality checks and outlier detection.
• Familiarity with machine learning and Gen AI

About the Market & Vendor Data Operation Center Team

The market and vendor products are a highly structured, time-series database containing detailed market intelligence on various technology segments, such as hardware, software, and services. It tracks key performance metrics (e.g., shipments, revenue, market share) for different companies and geographies over time. The data is organized chronologically, allowing you to analyze trends and compare performance over time.  The database contains both historical data and projections, supporting trend analysis and future market modeling. Expect large datasets with millions of rows, requiring efficient data handling and query optimization.

Expect to work with massive datasets, requiring advanced data management, optimization techniques, and a deep understanding of efficient querying. By contributing to this data operations team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of these datasets, which are used by clients worldwide to drive business insights and strategy.

As a key contributor, you will develop tools and systems to streamline the processing and analysis of this global market and vendor data. The tools you develop will help analysts perform complex data operations, validate data quality, and integrate diverse data sources to maintain the integrity and accuracy of IDC's key products.
