Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a motivated and well-spoken Event Sponsorship Sales Specialist to join our events sales team. This position plays a crucial role in promoting and selling event services. Your main goal will be to drive revenue through booking events like IDC's syndicated portfolio of events and be-spoke / custom conferences / round table. You will serve as the main point of contact with clients (IT vendors) from Turkey from initial inquiry through to event completion.

This is a hybrid role, requiring time on site at our Istanbul office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seeking out new business opportunities through cold calling (20%), networking, attending trade shows, following up on inquiries and leveraging our existing client database (80%).
  • Identifying potential clients and pitching event packages tailored to their needs.
  • Preparing customized proposals and negotiating contracts to close sales.
  • Developing a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
  • Initiating and coordinating development of action plans to penetrate new markets / new logos.
  • Providing timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) and Turkish is a must.
  • High school diploma/graduate and 2+ years of experience in Event Sponsorship sales.
  • Excellent phone and cold calling skills.
  • Previous experience in an outbound role, in IT solution sales or a related sales position preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software such as Salesforce.com.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong listening and sales skills.
