Overview

As the Senior EMEA Accounting Manager, Regional controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial health of a cluster of EMEA subsidiaries. Reporting directly to the VP of EMEA Accounting, you will lead a team of accounting professionals to lead day to day activities and transformation around Accounting reporting to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial Operations, timely and accurate reporting and compliance with both US Gaap and International accounting standards. Your strategic thinking, leadership abilities, and  knowledge of accounting principles, systems and processes will be critical in driving the organization's financial success.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring their skills are effectively utilized and that they meet performance objectives.
  • Fostering a collaborative and positive team culture that promotes accountability, open communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant regulations.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong internal control processes to safeguard assets and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitoring changes in accounting regulations and standards and implementing necessary updates to maintain compliance.
  • Coordinating the annual audit process and liaising with external auditors to provide required documentation and support.
  • Collaborating with tax professionals to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and compliance.
  • Identifying opportunities for process optimization within the accounting function to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as FP&A, HR, Legal, Sales and Operations, IT, to address financial implications of business initiatives and ensure alignment across the organization.
  • Participating to initiatives to enhance financial performance, operational efficiency, and overall company growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree and/or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in progressively responsible accounting and finance roles, including managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance regulations (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to contribute to high-level financial decision-making.
