Overview

In your job as a Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and selling to a territory of Italian based technology vendor accounts and working within IDC’s South Europe Sales team as a part of the European Sales organizations. The role will have a renewal (70%) and new business acquisition (30%) focus, and you will have access to selling the full IDC Portfolio of services to an assigned base of customers and prospects. 

 

Type of contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: IDC offices, Milan, Italy

Responsibilities

  • Focus on primarily selling IDC's Research & Data but also Custom Solutions and Events portfolio to clients in the technology sector based in Italy,
  • Manage existing accounts (70%) by maintaining a strong relationship with clients, negotiating renewals as well as new contracts and identifying opportunities for improvement and growth,
  • Acquire new business opportunities in the technology sector (30%) through networking, research, and prospecting, and driving the entire sales cycle from initial customer contact to closing the deal,
  • Customize proposals based on customer requirements and meet budgeted sales targets,
  • Accurately report the sales pipeline in the CRM (Salesforce) and local market intel/inputs to grow the business based on trends and requirements.
  • Collaborate with IDC teams consisting of Analysts, Consultants and other Sales professionals.

Qualifications

  • Has approximately 5 to 7+ years of direct sales experience and preferably a bachelor’s degree or higher,
  • Is fluent in Italian and English both in written and spoken form,
  • Has demonstrated success working independently to sell complex goods and services to technology vendors,
  • Has an understanding of market research and research subscriptions and the value they provide to clients,
  • Has a customer-centric approach, a collaborative and proactive mindset,
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
